Visiting researchers
Academic Visiting Researcher
In general, the host institute or research center is responsible for most organizational aspects. It is therefore essential to establish direct contact with your reference person within the host unit.

Invitation Letter
The host entity (institute, research center, or laboratory) is responsible for selecting the candidate and issuing the invitation letter, which should ideally be received at least three months prior to arrival—especially for candidates coming from non-EU countries.
The host also provides the necessary infrastructure and serves as the main contact point for all administrative formalities and practical onboarding upon arrival.
Funding and Contracts
Typically, visiting scholars work for a limited period without a formal employment contract with USI. Therefore, any funding (e.g., Erasmus+) should be arranged through the home institution.
