Decision No D-0325-07
At its sitting on the 16th of March the Student Council decided to support various initiatives proposed by the Student Organization Academy OSA, the student association of the Academy of Architecture at USI, with a total amount of CHF 10554. The funds will be allocated to continue a series of projects that have been ongoing for several years:
OSA Camera Obscura
Camera Obscura is an analogue photographic lab specializing in developing and printing processes created by students and based at the Academy of Architecture. The lab is open to all USI students interested in analogue photography, ranging from film development to photographic paper printing. The lab aims to share with the most significant number of students from all USI faculties activities and foster synergies between students and professionals through workshops, conferences, and photo exhibitions. The budget allocated will support the costs of developing and printing products and materials for organizing an exhibition (CHF 300).
CineOSA
CineOSA was created with the aim of expanding learning opportunities within the Accademia, offering students the chance to explore cinema as a tool for knowledge and cultural insight. Through screenings and discussion sessions, it creates a space for dialogue as an integral part of the educational experience. (CHF 200).
Concreto
Concreto has been managing the plaster room for years and organizing workshops and activities aimed at learning techniques for creating cast models in concrete, plaster, and wax. The requested funding for this semester is intended for the purchase of equipment useful for working with the aforementioned materials. (CHF 754).
ExpOSA
ExpOSA is presented in the form of an exhibition event, in which students from the academic community exhibit the product of their passions, not necessarily strictly related to architecture studies. The exhibitions will be related to themes such as photography, painting, sculpture, and the design and construction of furniture (CHF 500).
OSA Lectures
Selected lecturers are invited to share their work and research with USI students, among them contemporary architects or academics from other institutes and areas. The lectures will contribute to students' academic and future professional paths, offering them a broader perspective in an urbanistic, environmental, cultural, and political debate. The encounters are open to all USI faculties. The credit supports guests' food and transport expenses and post-conference aperitif (CHF 2100).
riOSA
riOSA is a project that focuses on issues concerning the eco-sustainability of materials and their reuse. The goal is to raise awareness among students about the issues of waste, sustainability, and reuse of materials through the design and implementation of real projects.
The project foresees a didactic part followed by the design and creation of a project to be implemented in the public spaces of the USI community. The credit aims at supporting the costs of the materials processing tools. In partnership with cineOSA, we plan to make a temporary and removable outdoor cinema screen for screenings at Casa dell’academia. Additionally, in collaboration with terrOSA, we plan to design and build an outdoor bookshelf for the school’s new garden from material we got donated by Christian Kerez last semeter. (CHF 500).
rumorOSA
rumorOSA is an initiative started by a group of students from the Students Organization (OSA) which aims to create a place for those who cultivate an interest in music. Specifically, the student association wants to offer to the student community the opportunity to have a place for musical rehearsal and bring any interested parties closer to the knowledge of a musical instrument. The funding requested will be used to cover the cost of purchasing cables, microphones, and amplifiers (CHF 800).
ViaggiOSA
Through the active collaboration of students and professors, ViaggiOSA wishes to offer culturally themed study trips, in particular guided visits to architecturally relevant buildings and museum exhibitions. The requested funding will be used to cover the costs of museum entrance tickets. (CHF 2300).
VoceA OSA
VoceAosa is the Academy of Architecture students' paper magazine and aims to give voice to students' lives and activities. The budget allocated will support the printing, binding and publication costs and the organization of a Workshop.
Each copy will be sold at a discounted price for students of 10 CHF. The production of a single magazine costs 15 CHF. The requested budget would serve to reimburse 50% of the total production cost, including printing, covers, organization of the presentation event, and various expenses (CHF 2800).
VoceVeloce
VoceVeloce proposes to offer opportunities to those who have an interest in writing and dissemination. The project complements Voce.A, the magazine by OSA, offering a lighter and more frequent format, allowing contributions from students in dialogue with notable figures in the architectural world. The plan is to publish 10 issues with at least 100 copies each. The product is an A3 sheet, folded, printed in color on both sides (CHF 300).
