Budget of the Corporation

Every year, USI allocates funds to the Corporation based on the total number of students enrolled in Bachelor's and Master's programmes. This budget is meant to support proposals by the student associations as well as the Corporation's own projects.

According to the rules in place, decisions on how to use the budget are made in the first instance by the Student Council, the "government" of the Corporation. The student body as a whole makes up the Corporation's "sovereign", called the "Student General Assembly". Through "direct democracy" in the form of voting, the student body therefore can have a say in the Council's final spending decisions

The actual budget that USI allocates to the Corporation is set each year for the following year, as part of the University's financial planning process.

For 2021 the Corporation has a budget of CHF 30,000, or approximately CHF 10 per student.
