Università della Svizzera italiana is a university with a strong international vocation, welcoming people from over 100 different countries, among its students, faculty, researchers, and administrative staff. In this multicultural context, open to the world, USI promotes cultural diversity and equal opportunities, while remaining sensitive to global challenges such as those related to migration.
The Migration exhibition was created to mark the 30th anniversary of IOM Switzerland (International Organization for Migration) and was first hosted at the Kornhausforum in Bern in February 2024. The selected photographs by Darrin Zammit Lupi portray major migration movements over the past three decades, which have also impacted Switzerland. Since March 2024, the Swiss Custom Museum has also been hosting Darrin Zammit Lupi’s work at its exhibition site in Gandria.
On the opening night of the exhibition, the International Relations and Study Abroad Service will also present the InclUSIone and Scholars at Risk programmes, dedicated to students within the asylum sector and researchers at risk due to their academic work.
