On November 20, the Swiss National Agency Movetia organized the customary annual event for tertiary education. The event aimed at presenting relevant news within the sector, such as funding opportunities, news related to the Swiss European Mobility Program 2019, as well as an outlook on Erasmus 2021-2027.

The meeting took place at the Museum für Gestaltung (part of the Zurich University of the Arts) and focused on the current funding programmes for higher education mobility and cooperation projects. Staff of the International Relations Offices had the opportunity to obtain first-hand information, ask questions, meet the colleagues and profit of a cultural break, with the visit of the exhibition “Genesis” from famous photographer Sebastiao Salgado.

The programme included the presentation of the Call 2019 both of the Swiss-European Mobility Programme SEMP and the Funding measures for International Cooperation and a speech entitled “Erasmus post2020” by Mrs. Andrea Fielenbach from the National Agency for European Higher Education Germany. The closing keynote speech was addressed by Prof. Dr. Michael Hengartner, President of swissuniversities and Rector of the University of Zurich. Prof. Hengartner focused on three main topics: “Why is mobility important?”, “Which are the main challenges for the implementation of the mobility?” and “Which are the perspectives for the mobility promoted by educational institutions in Switzerland?”
