Appeal to expand internship opportunities for students

Student Corporation

23 September 2020

Decision nr. D-0920-02

The Student Council, in its meeting of September 22, 2020, has decided to present in the coming weeks to the Rectorate an appeal addressed to the University to devise an action plan, assigned to a working group that also involves student representatives, to increase internship opportunities for USI students. The Student Council supports this appeal, offering also the possibility to allocate resources of the Corporation, with the aim of expressing the voice of the students and consolidating the dialogue between the student body and the University on issues that concern the students.

Details of the decision
The University already makes significant efforts to provide students with a wide range of suitable internships for the various study curricula, supporting them in finding adequate positions or otherwise gain professional experience in relation to their studies.

The Student Council appreciates this important work and would like to invite the University to continue its efforts in this area and also increase the range of activity sectors represented among the internship offers.

The Council will therefore appeal to the Rectorate so that the University may devise an action plan on the subject, through a working group in which a student representative is present. The Council shall certainly offer to do its part: with the agreement of the students, the resources of the Corporation could be allocated, on a one-off or regular basis, for example for internships, awards, networking events, etc. With its appeal, the Student Council intends to promote a greater attention towards, and involvement of, students on issues related to learning and training, strengthening thus potential synergies between the student body and the University in the context of the common goal of further improving the study experience at the University.

Decision procedure
The Decision was taken by the Student Council unanimously.
