Support to Ratio for the Seminar on Truthmaker Semantics

Student Corporation

17 March 2022

Decision No: D-0322-05

At its sitting on 15 March, the Student Council has decided to support with 200 CHF a third proposal submitted by the student association Ratio. The seminar features a conference series about Truthmaker Semantics and its range of applications. Alessandro Cecconi (PHD, University of Geneva) and Fabrice Correia (University of Geneva) will hold the conference. The 6 conferences are held at the USI Litorale and include classroom lessons, students' presentations and practice sessions. The project aims to strengthen universities relations and is open to further applications (e.g linguistic and logical) and therefore to the student community even outside of the philosophy department. The credit assigned will be used for guests' transport and accommodation expenses.

Details of the decision
The Student Council supports the project, among other reasons, for its strong relevance with USI education and its cultural value. Furthermore, the project fosters engagement between students of different faculties and promotes personal and social development.

Decision procedure
The Decision was taken by the Student Council unanimously. The credit corresponds to the request made by the association. It will be made available in the form defined in concert with the University when the actual expenses associated with the project are needed.

Deadline for the Student referendum
The deadline to launch a Student Referendum against this Decision is 31 March 2022.
