Support to the new association Volta for their project Volta-Dialogue series

At its sitting on 26 October, the Student Council decided to support with 322 CHF a proposal submitted by the student association Volta. In the upcoming semester, Volta aims to organise a lecture series at the Mendrisio Campus for USI students and staff. As part of the Swiss link of parity groups at Universities, Volta provides a platform to speak out against all forms of discrimination and it aims to establish and further raise awareness of issues circling parity as a strategy for social sustainability. Volta - Dialogue series will allow students to actively engage with professionals who share their beliefs, work, and strategy. The credit supports guests’ meals, travel expenses, and a post-lecture apéro.
Details of the Decision
The student council supports Volta-Dialogue series for their educational, expressive, cultural, and sharing values, in line with the Corporation's aim to support the initiatives of the Student Associations.
Decision procedure
The Decision was taken by the Student Council unanimously. It will be made available in the form defined in concert with the University when the actual expenses associated with the project are needed.
Deadline for the Student referendum
The deadline to launch a Student Referendum against this Decision is 10 November.
