Partner universities for academic mobility
Università della Svizzera italiana has agreements with the other Swiss universities and Institutes of Technology and counts more than 100 bilateral agreements with partner universities abroad.
While selecting the preferred destination university, students must carefully consider the academic offer, the language of instruction, and the academic calendar. It is important to research the partner universities in detail to make an informed and sound decision and secure credit recognition. The universities are divided by Faculty and the information displayed always includes the number of places for the agreement and the level (bachelor and/or master). Furthermore, additional information may be outlined, such as whether the agreement is structured or exclusively available for one study programme. Please note that with many universities we only have an exchange agreement with a specific department or faculty; this means that you are limited to taking courses at that faculty and do not have access to courses offered in other programmes or faculties.
The new responsive portal is the main tool for browsing the partner universities. It is possible to set filters such as study programme at USI, type of exchange programme and country. By clicking on the icon "information" you will access the dedicated page of the partner university. On this page, you can also find the link to the factsheet, a crucial document especially created for incoming students. Factsheets contain handy information for the organization of an exchange (link to course catalogue, academic calendar, language requirements, information about the accommodation, and much more). We strongly advise you to consult the factsheets carefully.
On the online application form in Mobility Online you will need to indicate the Faculty and the study programme you are attending at USI. The system will offer you only the universities with a valid agreement. If you have identified an institution but don't see it on the list, please send an email to [email protected] for a further check.
