LGBT* rights

The presentation of the brochure on LGBT rights “I diritti delle persone LGBT*” will be held on 3 October at 6 pm in the Lugano campus aula magna.

The brochure created by the Law Clinic of the University of Geneva, translated and adapted for Canton Ticino by the human rights foundation, is the latest of a series of publications aimed at bringing together and making available to the public information on the rights of a legally vulnerable population. The presentation will be the perfect opportunity for reflection on the rights that have been acquired and on the steps that still need to be taken to protect the Swiss LGTB* community. The event will feature guests from the academic world, law experts, and associations.

After the institutional opening remarks by the Pro-rector for equal opportunities Prof. Daniela Mondini, and an introduction on the subject by attorney Paolo Bernasconi and Dott. Nesa Zimmermann, the evening will also feature a videoconference with Prof.ssa Lorena Parini, Institute of Gender Studies of University of Geneva. A roundtable will follow with the participation of DECS Director Manuele Bertoli, Valerie De Bernardi of the Human Rights Foundation and the representatives of Imbarco Immediato. The evening will be moderated by journalist and USI faculty member Philip Di Salvo. A cocktail reception will follow.

The event is organised by the Human Rights Foundation in collaboration with USI Equal Opportunities Service, with SUPSI Gender and Diversity Service, and with the Delegate for Equal Opportunities of Canton Ticino.
