Decision No D-0322-01

At its sitting on 1 March, the Student Council has decided to support with 700 CHF a proposal submitted by the student association Ratio, which fosters philosophical discussion through informative events open to the student community (even outside of the philosophy department) and to all interested parties. According to the proposal, Ratio will take part in the organisation of the conference "Cosa vogliamo sapere?" - " What do we want to know?" The event will be held in Italian and is part of the PhilExpo review (https://www.philosophie.ch/philexpo22-ch) organised by Philosophie.ch in collaboration with various Swiss philosophical associations. The conference will be held by Damiano Costa (USI and ISFI) and Professor Costantino Esposito (University of Bari and ISFI). It aims to show how the same question can be answered through different methods. The event will be an excellent opportunity for discussion among the students of the Master and Bachelor in philosophy and, above all, among the public, Swiss philosophical associations, and high school students. The credit assigned will be used for guests' transport and accommodation expenses and to support refreshments at the end of the event. The event is held in Italian.

Details of the decision

The Student Council supports the project, among other reasons, for its strong relevance with USI education and its cultural value. Furthermore, the project fosters engagement between students of different faculties and promotes personal and social development.

Decision procedure

The decision was taken by the Student Council unanimously. The credit corresponds to the request made by the association. It will be made available in the form defined in concert with the University when the actual expenses associated with the project are needed.

Deadline for the Student referendum

The deadline to launch a Student Referendum against this Decision is 17 March 2022.
