Campus Ovest, Via Buffi 13 Lugano - Palazzo principale, Auditorio

The prize, promoted by the Ciao Table Association in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Service, is awarded annually to a researcher who stands out for significant scientific studies in the field of sociality and factors promoting inclusiveness.

The 2023 edition was awarded to Sarah Blakemore, professor at the University of Cambridge, an expert in studies on the adolescent brain.

The prize, in an original perspective, is intended to highlight not only the individual's career, but also the importance of the academic community in the pursuit of important and innovative research. It is therefore awarded to the university to which the researcher belongs.

Sarah-Jayne Blakemore is Professor of Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge and leader of the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Group. Her group's research focuses on the development of social cognition and decision-making in the human adolescent brain and adolescent mental health.

Her group conducts behavioural studies in schools and laboratories, as well as neuroimaging studies, with adolescents and adults.
