Funded the "Equal Opportunities, Inclusion and Diversity at USI" Project through the PgB swissuniversities 2025 - 2028 "Équité - Promouvoir l'égalité, la diversité et l'inclusion à tous les niveaux des hautes écoles" project

Through the Equal Opportunities Service, The Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) has been awarded swissuniversities funds from the Program “Équité - Promouvoir l'égalité, la diversité et l'inclusion à tous les niveaux des hautes écoles” for the four-year period 2025-2028.
The swissuniversities program “Équité - Promouvoir l'égalité, la diversité et l'inclusion à tous les niveaux des hautes écoles” aims to strengthen the theme of equal opportunity, inclusion and diversity at all levels of Swiss institutions of higher education, and support the topic as part of university development. It also helps to better exploit the potential of talent and qualified employees, and strengthens Switzerland's tertiary higher education system as a center of expertise and research and increasing its performance and competitiveness internationally.
Thanks to the funds obtained, USI, through the Equal Opportunity Service, will be able to support and expand measures on what is already planned in USI's Equal Opportunity, Inclusion, and Diversity Action Plan for the four-year period 2025-2028 (Action Plan).
Specifically, in line from what the Action Plan proposes, PgB funds will be used to develop measures and activities in the following 4 areas:
- Careers - Measures and activities to support career, professional and study paths made potentially difficult due to personal situations and/or structural conditions specific to the sector that favor their exclusion;
- Figures - Monitoring activities with both exploratory and in-depth analysis with respect to the issues of equal opportunities, inclusion and diversity in order to know any possible hidden structure of discrimination and inequality useful for the orientation of activities;
- Reconciliation - Measures and activities to support reconciliation understood as the possibility of access to flexible work and study paths and modes in an environment that is also attentive to the needs of the private life;
- Culture - Measures and activities aimed at spreading a culture of inclusion, equal opportunities and ethical responsibility.
The implementation of measures financed by PgB funds will be a key step that will enable will enable the structural and cultural anchorage of equal opportunity, inclusion and diversity issues in USI's framework and rnormative conditions.
