As part of the Sustainability Week (10-14 March 2025), the Equal Opportunities Service proposes the meeting ‘Birth rate, economic inclusion of women, overcoming traditional roles: the role of the state and the economy in the face of a changing society’ developed in collaboration with Equilab and Profamilia and SEEDS - Students Engaged in Environment, Development and Sustainability. This event addresses the issue of social sustainability, a fundamental aspect for the future of our society, focusing on birth rate, gender equality and economic and cultural transformations.

The event will be held on 13.03.2025 and will be an opportunity to reflect together on how public policies and the economic system can respond to current social changes.

Below is the programme:

  • 17.30 Introduction and presentation of the Theme, Francesca Scalici, Head of the USI Equal Opportunities Service
  • 17.40 Guided tour of the photographic exhibition ‘Families - exploring the past, imagining the future’ by Laura Semini in the Foyer Aula Magna. (The visit will delve into the social aspects of the theme)
  • 18.15: ‘Natality, women's economic inclusion, overcoming traditional roles: the role of the state and the economy in the face of a changing society’, by Equi-Lab. ‘The talk will delve into the economic aspects of the topic’.
  • 18.45 Discussion with the public
