Second Company visit for mentees of the BPW-USI programme
Equal Opportunities Service
27 February 2026
On 26 February, some participants in the BPW-USI Professional Mentoring Programme had the opportunity to take part in a company visit to the headquarters of the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS). The initiative is part of the calendar of activities planned for the 2025-2026 edition of the programme and aims to offer mentees concrete opportunities for professional guidance, as well as moments of direct interaction with centres of excellence.
During the visit, participants were able to learn more about the strategic role of the CSCS in the national and international scientific research landscape, discovering first-hand the activities and projects that make the centre a benchmark in the field of high-performance scientific computing.
The meeting also provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue with Maria Grazia Giuffreda, Associate Director of the CSCS, who welcomed the group and accompanied the students during this stimulating experience, sharing her professional career path and offering food for thought on career opportunities in the sector.
Supporting and promoting female talent in scientific disciplines is essential, as is continuing to promote the presence of women in all areas of knowledge and in various professional fields.
The company visit is thus confirmed as one of the most significant events in the BPW-USI Professional Mentoring Programme, helping to strengthen the link between university education, the world of work and the local area.
