D-1023-05 - Hiking Club, online handicraft workshop «Art-Garage 2023», Self fish Self, Student Association for Ukraine

Decision No: D-1023-05

At its sitting on 10 October, the Student Council has decided to support with a total amount of 600 CHF three proposals submitted by the Student Association for Ukraine.

Hiking club project
Organized hikes to encourage cultural exchange and integration of Ukrainians into the local reality, establish new friendships, practice language skills, spend quality time immersed in nature, and do physical activity. The budget is intended for snacks and drinks to be offered set-up costs and a financial reward to the guide. Budget requested: CHF 2000, approved CHF 200.

Online handicraft workshop «Art-Garage 2023»
An online platform on SAFU's official webpage will feature a catalogue of handmade items, primarily decorations, created by individuals in Ukraine who have been impacted by the conflict or who are living with mental or physical disabilities stemming from it. This platform will offer the opportunity to purchase the items. Ideally, a locked showcase will be exposed to the audience. The budget is intended for transportation and promotional material. Budget requested: CHF 700, approved CHF 100.

Self fish Self
In-person or online workshops held by experts in the fields of leadership, mental well-being, team building, and strategic planning. The budget is intended for snacks and drinks, guests’ expenses and promotional material. Budget requested: CHF 3000, approved CHF 300.

Decision procedure
The Decision was taken by the Student Council unanimously. The partial credit of CHF 600, out of CHF 5700 of the request made by the association will be made available in the form defined in concert with the University when the actual expenses associated with the project are needed.

Deadline for the Student referendum 
The deadline to launch a Student Referendum against this Decision is 9 November.
