Scholarship award for female students enrolled in the first year of a Master's degree offered by the Faculty of Computer Science

The Equal Opportunities Service of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) is offering una tantum award scholarship worth CHF 4,000 for the 2025/26 academic year, intended for a female student enrolled in the first year of a Master’s program offered by the Faculty of Informatics.

The scholarship is awarded within the framework of the Action Plan for Equal Opportunities, Inclusion and Diversity at USI 2025–2028, in collaboration with the Faculty of Informatics. Its goal is to counteract horizontal gender segregation in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and to raise awareness and support young women in making informed choices related to these disciplines.

Eligible Applicants

The call is open exclusively to female students enrolled in the first year of a Master’s program offered by the Faculty of Informatics, who will have passed — by the end of the Winter 2026 examination session — all exams scheduled in the study plan for the first semester, in one of the following programs:

• Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence
• Master of Science in Computational Science
• Master of Science in Informatics and Economics, Major in Financial Technology & Computing
• Master of Science in Informatics and Economics, Major in Management & Informatics
• Master of Science in Software and Data Engineering
• Master of Science in Informatics

Applicants must submit their request using the dedicated online form by December 31, 2025.
Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
