On 9 December 2025, Bellinzona hosted the public event “Ribaltare le narrazioni: il ruolo dei media nel promuovere la parità”, an event dedicated to analysing how the media can make a concrete contribution to building a more equitable, inclusive and gender-sensitive society.

The evening, moderated by RSI journalist Sara Galeazzi, saw the participation of several experts who explored the role of public service in combating stereotypes, choosing language and creating new narratives capable of representing diversity in a more responsible and accurate way.

During the meeting, the Ermiza 2025 Award was presented, a biennial award dedicated to the best media contributions in Italian-speaking Switzerland that promote equal opportunities. This year's edition, which was also open to written contributions, rewarded a variety of works for their quality, depth and originality. First prize went to “Women and Democracy: A History of Exclusion” by Cristina Artoni and Marco Pagani, for its historical analysis of the marginalisation of women in politics. Second prize went to In the Name of Poverty” by Sharon Bernardi, an investigation highlighting the economic inequalities that affect women in particular. The third prize was awarded to "How a Parliament Became More Masculine During the Legislative Term" by Luca Beti, while a special mention was given to the multimedia project ‘Free to Leave’ by Manuela Ruggeri and Mattia Lento, dedicated to female emigration.

The event, supported by BancaStato and FAFTPlus, is organised by SSR Svizzera italiana CORSI, the Advisory Commission for Equal Opportunities of the Canton of Ticino, the University of Italian Switzerland (USI) and SUPSI, confirming the institutional commitment to promoting a media culture attentive to issues of equality and representation.
