To mark Sexual Harassment Awareness Day 2026, the national awareness day promoted by swissuniversities, the USI Equal Opportunities Service and the SUPSI Gender and Diversity Service are organising a workshop entitled ‘Stereotypes, gender bias and sexual harassment: how to tackle them’.

  • Date and time: Tuesday 21 April 2026, from 1.30 pm to 5.00 pm (4-hour session)
  • Venue: Foyer, Block A, USI–SUPSI East Campus, Lugano-Viganello

The workshop, open to all USI and SUPSI staff, explores the cultural underpinnings that foster sexual harassment and the practical steps that can be taken to prevent and address it at both the communication and organisational level. Topics will be examined from multiple perspectives: that of the person experiencing harassment, the bystander and those in managerial roles.

The session will be led by Danuscia Tschudi, Senior Researcher at the Centre of Competence for Work, Welfare and Society (DEASS), and Brita Kleindienst, actress and trainer at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri.

Participation is free of charge and counts as working time. Places are limited to 18 participants to ensure an interactive and participatory learning experience.
