Understanding the function of G-Protein Coupled Receptors by atomistic and multiscale studies
Decanato - Facoltà di scienze biomediche
Data d'inizio: 23 Settembre 2024 / 08:15
Data di fine: 25 Settembre 2024 / 12:30
Aula Magna dell'Università della Svizzera italiana, 6900 Lugano
The second edition of the biannual GPCR CECAM workshop focuses on the latest advancements in understanding G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs), essential membrane proteins that play a key role in signal transduction across cell membranes. GPCRs are involved in regulating various biological functions, including metabolism, immune response, neurotransmission, and sensory processes such as olfaction and vision. Given their critical role, GPCRs are the target of approximately 34% of prescribed drugs, making them a focal point of ongoing pharmaceutical research.
The workshop brings together experts in structural, computational, and biochemical biology to explore how GPCRs interact with ligands and signaling molecules, as well as the mechanisms regulating their activation.
The event will start on Monday 23 September at 08:45 and will continue with various sessions in English.
For information on the detailed programme please download the attached flyer.
Dates: September 23-25, 2024
Location: Aula magna, Campus ovest, Università della Svizzera italiana, Lugano
The CECAM workshop is co-organised by the Euler Institute and the Faculty of Biomedicine of Università della Svizzera italiana.
