In order to help current students and recent graduates to find their way in the working world, many of our alumni shared their career story. Here the story of Andrea Caspani, Director and Founder of My-Mountains in Lucerne (CH). USI Degree: Master in Management, 2010.

How did you start your career?

With a traineeship in an international Tour Operator.

Why did you decide to create My-Mountains?

I decided to found my own company and to change a bit the world.

What is your current role/duties?

I am the head of the company dealing mainly with coordinating medium/long-term projects and budget allocation.

In your opinion, what are the qualities necessary for a successful career in My-Mountains?

Absolute passion for Digital Technologies and Digital Marketing. Love for mountains and an “impossible is nothing” attitude.

What positive aspects and qualities meant most to you during the study programme you attended?

Multicultural environment, interesting and engaging workshops, a real connection with the real job market, facilities and friendliness of the staff.

What competences and/or skills acquired in your USI Study Program have been useful/are useful to your professional career?

USI opens your mind and allows you to adapt to many different situations. It helps you to communicate effectively among different cultures and apply theoretical concepts to the real world.

What is your advice to USI students entering the job market?

Focus on your strengths and passions, never stop learning, never accept status quo, aim to constantly change, develop and adapt.
