In order to help current students and recent graduates to find their way in the working world, many of our alumni shared their career story. Here the story of Petros Russom, Sr. District Manager for Tezenis (Calzedonia Group) in Barcelona. USI Degree: Master in Management, 2016.

How did you start your career?

As I graduated in September 2016 I had the chance to get in touch with Calzedonia, starting an internship in Valencia and then to be full time employed.

Why did you choose a career at Tezenis (Calzedonia Group)?

Because it's a company where you can grow very fast and also you have the opportunity to see several aspect of the business.

What is your current role/duties?

Responsible for multiple Tezenis stores in Barcelona. I oversee the day to day operations of the stores, creating and cultivating strong teams in order to achieve sales goals and drive stores' profitability.

In your opinion, what are the qualities necessary for a successful career in Tezenis (Calzedonia Group)?

Positive attitude, flexible, curiosity, empathy and be proactive.

What positive aspects and qualities meant most to you during the study programme you attended?

The practical activities have been very useful especially case studies, group project, essays. I consider that this approach is the one more similar to the way business work.

What competences and/or skills acquired in your USI Study Program have been useful/are useful to your professional career?

The USI study program helped me to develop skills like the ability to prioritize, to be flexible and the proactivity.

What is your advice to USI students entering the job market?

Be willing to embrace uncertainty, failure and challenge. These three conditions would help you to grow personally and professionally.
