In order to help current students and recent graduates to find their way in the working world, many of our alumni shared their career story. Here the story of Antoine De Perrot, Founder and Visual Artist & Architect of Onzgi in Zurich & Paris (CH - F). USI Degree: Diploma di Architetto, 2002.

How did you start your career?

The visual artist and architect Antoine de Perrot, aka Onzgi, graduated at the Academy of Architecture USI in Mendrisio in 2002. He founded his own studio for architecture and furniture design in Zurich, and since 2013 also in Paris, when he began exhibiting his artworks internationally. Onzgi has received awards for both art and architecture projects. Among others, he was granted a honourable mention at the European Prize of Architecture Philippe Rotthier 2021, he won the competition for a permanent artwork for the Clinic Hirslanden in Zurich; realized the interior design of the dance, theater and music school DTM in Paris; and created a series of unique furniture pieces such as the conference table in the arts section of Pro Helvetia in Zurich. Lately his focus is on art interventions in the public space, like the temporary installations "Infinito" in Mendrisio, "Der Berg im Stausee" in Göschenen and light and space installations for dance performances. Onzgi is regularly invited to lecture on art and architecture, among others at the art faculty of the University Paris 8 and the ETH Zurich. Actually, Onzgi is a lecturer in art and architecture with his Workshop "Transversal Territory", as well as assistant to Prof. Marc Collomb, at the Academy of Architecture USI in Mendrisio.
