rectoverso 1/5 - Abitare, costruire

Prende avvio il prossimo mercoledì 30 novembre, alle ore 19:00 all'Accademia di architettura dell'USI (Mendrisio, Aula magna), una nuova serie di cinque incontri pubblici. Il ciclo "rectoverso", rivolto tanto alla comunità dell'USI quanto alla cittadinanza, sarà tenuto dal Rettore Prof. Boas Erez e metterà a tema - incontro dopo incontro - l'interesse generale delle tematiche sviluppate dalle diverse Facoltà e aree di ricerca dell'Università della Svizzera italiana. "rectoverso" punta a condividere, come la metafora tipografica suggerisce, le molteplici prospettive di lettura della realtà offerte dall'USI, molte delle quali strettamente correlate tra di loro, come pagine di un unico racconto che parla dell'attualità e della vita di tutti i giorni. La serie vuole essere - in quest'ottica - un cammino reciproco, dell'USI e del suo Rettore verso la cittadinanza e viceversa.

Il ciclo di quest'anno avrà come filo conduttore "La fine di una certa intimità", nel senso del rapporto sempre più delicato tra le certezze interiori e la complessità globale, tra il noi e gli altri. Il primo appuntamento, il 30 novembre a Mendrisio, sarà dedicato all'architettura e avrà come titolo "Abitare, costruire".

"rectoverso", pur affondando le proprie radici etimologiche nell'uso del papiro degli antichi manoscritti, avrà una sua articolazione anche sui social media: dal profi lo dell'USI su Twitter, all'hashtag #rectoverso, sarà infatti possibile seguire le argomentazioni del Rettore e partecipare alla discussione, ponendo domande in diretta.

"rectoverso" is the name of the new series of public lectures given by the Rector of the Università della Svizzera italiana, Prof. Boas Erez, who will address the academic community and the general public on topics of general interest developed within the Faculties and research groups at USI. The first of five public lectures will be on Wednesday, November 30th, at 7pm at the Academy of Architecture (Aula magna, Mendrisio campus). As metaphorically suggested by its name, "rectoverso" is about sharing the diverse perspectives of interpreting realities that USI can offer, many of which are closely related to each other, like the pages of a book narrating current events and everyday life. As such, the public lectures represent a moment of mutual exploration between USI and its Rector and the public.

The leitmotiv of this round of lectures is "The end of a certain intimacy", and addresses the increasingly delicate relationship between inner certainties and the overall complexity of our society, between others and ourselves. "To live, to build" (in Italian, "Abitare, costruire") is the title of the first event, dedicated to Architecture, on November 30th in Mendrisio.
