4 Ottobre 2018

On the occasion of the 30th Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition that took place in Geneva, Università della Svizzera italiana opened its doors to a number of selected partner universities for a 2-day workshop that allowed attendees to interact, discover the Lugano region and learn more about USI.

Six colleagues from partner universities in Finland, Germany, Czech Republic and Denmark accepted our invitation. The first day started with the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshop led by Dr. Stefano Tardini, Director of USI eLearning Lab and certified LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitator. This ice-breaker activity aimed at not only getting to know each other, but also reflecting on challenges, opportunities, new ideas and best-practices of the International Relations services. A fun moment of sharing and discussing, trying to gain a different perspective on our activities.

The day continued with a pleasant walk along the Sentiero di Gandria, a boat trip on the Lake Ceresio and a nice dinner at a typical “grotto” only reachable by boat. A nice Sunday activity, not far from what the locals do!

The second day, the Rector of USI, prof. Boas Erez, officially welcomed the group and shared insights into USI and its activities. Following, the Deans of each Faculty of the Lugano Campus gave a detailed overview of their respective faculty, the study curricula and all those aspects relevant for the colleagues in charge of counselling outgoing students. The two-day session concluded with a tour of the Lugano Campus.

After lunch, we greeted our colleagues good-bye, knowing that we would meet again some of them in the following days at the EAIE Conference and Exhibition.

We would like to thank them for choosing USI as their Staff Days destination. A special thank you also goes to our Rector, the Deans of the Faculties and Dr. Stefano Tardini for their support and contribution to the event.
