Sebbene l'USI sia l'unica università della Svizzera italiana, l'inglese è la lingua d'insegnamento in numerosi programmi di studio:

• Tutti i programmi di master presso la Facoltà di comunicazione, cultura e società, ad eccezione del Master in Lingua, letteratura e civiltà italiana;
• Tutti i programmi di master presso la Facoltà di scienze economiche, ad eccezione del Master in Economia e politiche internazionali (MEPIN) ed il Master in Public Management and Policy (bilingue IT/EN);
• Corsi dei primi tre semestri del Bachelor in Scienze economiche (offerti sia in italiano sia in inglese);

Corsi di italiano gratuiti: dove la lingua incontra la cultura

L'USI è l'unica università di lingua e cultura italiana nel panorama accademico svizzero, e l'italiano è la lingua ufficiale della regione. Per queste ragioni, l'USI è particolarmente impegnata nell'organizzazione di corsi gratuiti di lingua italiana, sia intensivi che estensivi, e a tutti i livelli. Gli studenti sono invitati a partecipare ai corsi intensivi prima dell'inizio del semestre, o ad iscriversi a uno dei molti corsi sull'arco di uno o due semestri.

La cultura è una componente importante e inseparabile della conoscenza di una lingua; per questo motivo, una serie di attività culturali e sociali vengono organizzate durante l'anno accademico. Imparare l'italiano e immergersi nella cultura locale arricchisce il periodo di mobilità oltre il tempo trascorso in aula.

Servizio di consulenza personalizzato prima e durante gli studi

Prima dell'arrivo e durante il periodo di studio all'USI, il Servizio relazioni internazionali e mobilità funge da primo punto di contatto per gli studenti in mobilità ed offre un servizio di consulenza personalizzato affinché gli studenti possano organizzare agevolmente i loro studi e il loro soggiorno. Questo servizio è offerto in collaborazione con gli altri servizi agli studenti (segreterie degli studi, servizio alloggi, servizio sport, supporto informatico, ecc).

Gli studenti beneficiano anche di una serie di canali di informazione, tra cui il sito web, le sessioni informative e i rapporti di soggiorno elaborati dagli studenti.

Attività ricreative per scoprire la regione

Il Servizio relazioni internazionali organizza attività sociali e ricreative e collabora con Erasmus Student Network Lugano per aiutare gli/le studenti/esse a conoscere il territorio, scoprire perle nascoste e lasciarsi ispirare per le attività nel tempo libero.

Attività sportive sulle nostre montagne, mostre d'arte, visite guidate ai principali luoghi di interesse della regione, partecipazione a famosi eventi locali come il carnevale di Bellinzona: questa è solo una piccola selezione dell'offerta, ma siamo sicuri che ci sia qualcosa per tutti i gusti!

During the first days we got a welcome package with all the papers necessary to apply for permit of stay, guides and descriptions of activities in the area. It was quite useful.
