Submission deadline: 2 Ottobre 2023

Submission deadline: 2 October 2023

The Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia is seeking to fund programs that promote collaboration between art, science, and technology, both within Switzerland and globally.
The Synergies open call offers financial support ranging from CHF 20,000 to CHF 150,000 for a variety of collaborative programs. Programs that encourage new approaches and methodologies and facilitate the exchange of knowledge across different contexts are particularly encouraged. Eligible programs must be research- and process-oriented, involve international collaboration, and be targeted at cultural and artistic practitioners. The support covers costs related to conceptualization, creation, and implementation of the program, including artists' fees and travel expenses, but does not include infrastructural and operational costs of organizations.

Eligibility criteria

  • Collaborations must involve at least one Swiss artistic or cultural organization and last for 1-2 years, starting no earlier than March 2024.
  • The proposed program must be at the intersection of art, science, and technology and have an impact on the Swiss artistic and cultural scene.
  • A significant part of the program must be open to the public.

Selection criteria

The selection criteria for funding include:

  • Originality, quality, and impact, with a focus on whether the proposed program offers unique methods and outstanding content,
  • Research and process orientation are also considered, with a focus on whether the program is research-oriented and provides a framework for experimentation
  • Relevance is considered, with a focus on whether the proposed program is relevant for the intersection of art, science, and technology and fits the geographical, cultural, and artistic context.
