Under the project funding scheme, qualified researchers define their research themes and objectives themselves and conduct their project under their own responsibility.
Eligibility
Researchers can submit an application as an individual or together with other researchers.
They must actively do scientific work for at least 50% (0.5 FTE) at an eligible research institution in CH.
After obtaining the doctorate (PhD), they must have conducted scientific research for at least four years.
Funding and duration
The grants are awarded for a minimum of one year and a maximum of four years.
Over the entire duration of the grant, an amount not exceeding CHF 250,000 on average may be requested per annum and per applicant.
The minimum amount that may be requested in research applications submitted to the SNF is CHF 100,000.
Separate evaluation for interdisciplinary projects.
