The Faculty of Informatics is pleased to announce a seminar given by Amer Diwan

DATE: Monday, November 4th, 2013
PLACE: USI Lugano Campus, room A13, Red building (Via G. Buffi 13)
TIME: 14:30

ABSTRACT:
By "performance crimes" we mean anything that wastes resources (CPU, memory, etc.) or degrades user latency.  Consequently performance crimes either increase the cost (financial and environmental) of running datacenter applications or affect user experience with the application.

This talk demonstrates the challenges of solving these crimes at Google.

BIO:
Amer Diwan, formerly an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder, now is Performance Detective at Google.

HOST: Prof. Matthias Hauswirth
