SNSF - Amazon +10 Initiative: Call opening

The SNSF is participating in the Amazon +10 call coordinated by Brazil that aims to support scientific projects within the Legal Amazon and is open to researchers from all disciplines.
Eligibility
Swiss applicants are advised to contact the respective Brazilian Funding Agency as well as the National Contact Point in Switzerland in order to check who is eligible to apply and what costs are eligible before submitting the complete application.
- Please note that Swiss applicants need to submit an application to mySNF in parallel.
- All Swiss applicants must meet the eligibility requirements of the SNSF. The SNSF Funding Regulations, the General implementation regulations and the Regulations on Project Funding are applicable or applicable mutatis mutandis.
Funding and duration
A maximum amount of CHF 250,000 is allocated per project for the Swiss side.

Timeline of the call
- December 31, 2023: Deadline for international agencies to adhere to the call.
- February and March 2024: Call roadshow and webinars.
- April 29, 2024: Deadline for submitting proposals.
- April 30 to July 30, 2024: Analysis of proposals.
- July 31, 2024: Announcement of preliminary results.
- August 9, 2024: Deadline for filing of appeals.
- August 23, 2024: Announcement of decision and final result in Diário Oficial da União and on participants’ websites.
