As a multilateral initiative, MAPS aims to strengthen research collaboration between Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Switzerland.
Eligibility

Applicant Requirements: Each proposal must include at least one applicant based in Switzerland and two to five applicants from two to five different participating EU-13 countries, with a maximum of one applicant per country. Each applicant can submit only one proposal for the current call.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants based in Switzerland must meet the eligibility criteria of the SNSF. The regulations applicable include the SNSF Funding Regulations, the General Implementation Regulations, and the SNSF Regulations on Project Funding, or these are applicable mutatis mutandis where not stated otherwise.

Funding and Duration

Maximum Funding per Team and Country: CHF 350’000 for four years, regardless of the team's composition across the specified countries. Grants are co-funded, with 85% covered by the second Swiss Contribution and 15% by the respective SMP (with an exception for Poland)

Eligible Costs: Include personnel/staff costs, travel & subsistence allowances, equipment (up to 30% of total project costs), consumables, other direct costs, and specific conditions for project partners and subcontractors. Overhead costs are eligible for a flat rate of 5% for PIs from the participating EU-13 countries but not for the Swiss PI.
